Business intelligence and database expert

The candidate will demonstrate a successful track record of developing elegant and efficient Business Intelligence solutions which have had a direct impact on desired business outcomes. The BI engineer will be comfortable working across the full spectrum of business intelligence disciplines spanning data modeling, data acquisition, and BI solution development - with strong emphasis on developing effective visualizations. The individual will work as part of an interdisciplinary agile team closely aligned with Scholastic business units to develop and deploy BI and analytical solutions. The ideal candidate will be distinguished not only by his or her mastery of Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence disciplines, but also by a passionate commitment to end user satisfaction The BI Engineer will exhibit expertise with the Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Business Intelligence suite (SSAS, SSRS, SSIS, SharePoint 2010) and Tableau.

Key Responsibilities include

• Work closely with product owners to understand business analysis functions to be supported
• Lead and participate in design walkthroughs
• Develop Dashboards, Scorecards and Self Service Environments
• Develop Detail Reports utilizing Reporting Services reports against Analysis Services cubes
• Conduct code walkthroughs
• Develop SSIS ETL code
• Conduct unit tests of ETL processes, cubes, and reports
• Follow established SQL Server standards for design, development and migrations

• Extremely strong SQL skills
